Dannung and in-depth learning. A study of teacher´s text selection and methods for teaching literature in upper secondary school
My research is related to literature education in upper secondary school. The project’s main interest is the concepts of formation (danning) and in-depth learning in the new national curriculum for Norwegian schools (to be implemented from autumn 2020). The overall research question I ask is: What might the value of reading and working with literature be? How might literature education contribute to the formation of student in upper secondary school? In the study I am concerned with methodology and what texts are read and on what grounds. The data is gathered through observation of teaching and retrospective conversations with three teachers and 18 students associated with a Steiner school, a Danish technical upper secondary school and a Norwegian public secondary school respectively.
